Experience

In my 17 years of professional practice I have worked as a social worker, counsellor and consultant in mental health settings, private agencies, businesses, government agencies and schools, in both rural and urban settings. The children, adults, and couples who I have seen for counselling come from a diverse background and include members of aboriginal communities, multi-cultural groups, gay, lesbian and bisexual individuals and those with disabilities. I specialize in work with those experiencing work stress, relationship issues, trauma, grief/loss and adoption issues. As a firm believer in the power of peer support to promote healing, I continue to facilitate and offer a variety of group experiences.

I provide clinical supervision for Oak Counselling Services as well as for private therapists.  My experience includes consulting services for the Globe and Mail, CKNW radio and for provincial integrated school-linked services project for children and youth at risk.  I enjoy presenting at various conferences and workshops and am committed to exploring current research and techniques for healing.
